Man Shoots, Kills Mother Before Turning Gun On Self: Manatee Sheriff

PARRISH, FL — Deputies are investigating a Sunday evening murder-suicide in Parrish, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office news release,

Stephen Andrew Kidd, 29, shot and killed his 51-year-old mother before turning the gun on himself.

Investigators responded to a home in the 11500 block of 84th Street Circle E. around 6:15 p.m. after receiving 911 calls about shots fired and two people lying in the driveaway, the sheriff’s office said.

They found the bodies of Kidd and his mother when they arrived.

Detectives learned that Kidd had been struggling with personal issues for some time, the agency said. Other family members have been accounted for and are safe.
