Music Compound is thrilled to partner this year with Big Top Brewing Company for its Shred the Love fundraiser, with proceeds going to support scholarships for Music Compound members and families experiencing financial difficulties.
Community members are invited to purchase wristbands – entitling them to $1 off every beer purchased at Big Top’s Sarasota and Bradenton locations on the second or third Saturday of the month – for just $20. These are available at Music Compound’s Sarasota and Manatee locations or at Big Top during Music Compound student performances (Saturday, February 11 in Bradenton, 2507 Lakewood Ranch Blvd.; Saturday, February 18 in Sarasota, 975 Cattlemen Rd.) from noon-5 p.m.
Additional funds will be raised through the raffle of 10 donated gift baskets: raffle tickets can be purchased at both Music Compound locations or during the student performances at Big Top. The winners will be announced on February 28.

These events and efforts will lead up to Music Compound’s LOVE Concert at Music Compound SRQ (1751 Cattlemen Rd., Sarasota) on Friday, February 17 at 6 p.m. The event includes a concert featuring Music Compound students as well as a food truck and raffles to further support the cause.
“Shred the Love” was originally started as an IB project at Riverview High School to support career readiness, enable students to learn how to plan and implement an event, and see the value of charitable works. The inaugural Shred the Love concert in 2018 funded the purchase of ukuleles for children with cancer; in 2019, the event funded music programs at Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County and Children First; and, in 2021, proceeds supported scholarships for area youth who had lost a loved one to COVID-19 or whose parents had lost their jobs due to the pandemic.

In addition to the purchase of raffle tickets and wristbands, those who wish to support musical enrichment for area children are invited to sponsor a child through a donation ($600 covers three months of membership). For more information, visit musiccompound.com.
